Sinus And Allergy Problems Can Cause Headaches
Headaches are a controversial, problematic area with medical specialists not all in agreement regarding headache triggers, especially sinus and allergy causes. It has been my experience that some headaches originate in the sinuses (blockage, tissue contact) or may be caused by certain exposures, including allergy, smoke, chemical and perfumes, among others. There are many other headache causes unrelated to sinus or allergy.
A headache diary may be helpful, especially looking for an identifiable "triggers", such as weather, certain foods or alcohol, or other allergy contacts (wet home, dander, chemicals).
Neurological evaluation may be necessary, with sinus imaging (CT scan) indicated. From an ENT - Allergy standpoint, reducing tissue swelling, blockage and obstruction is critical. Surgery and or allergy treatments might be necessary.
